VELUM is a luxury fine dining template built from first principles — not assembled from off-the-shelf parts. The brief was clear: create a digital presence that communicates refinement before a visitor reads a single word, integrated with a reservation engine that handles the complexity of high-end hospitality.
The project expanded beyond a website into a complete digital system: a custom reservation engine, private dining management, and an administrative dashboard that gives operators full operational visibility. Every element was engineered to match the brand precision of the physical experience it represents.

Luxury hospitality businesses need more than a beautiful website. They need a complete digital ecosystem: an immersive visual experience that communicates brand value instantly, integrated with a reservation engine that handles the complexity of tasting menu formats — fixed seatings, private dining rooms, dietary requirements, and group bookings.
Off-the-shelf solutions like OpenTable and Resy break the brand experience with third-party iframes and generic interfaces. The solution had to be custom, end-to-end, and indistinguishable from the brand itself.
Engineered from
first principles.
We built VELUM from scratch in React and Supabase. The visual identity system was established first: a restrained pastel palette anchored by warm ivory and aged gold, a hairline wordmark, and a V monogram that works at any scale — from favicon to full-screen.
The reservation system handles real-time availability across multiple dining formats — tasting menu seatings at fixed times, the chef’s table, and private dining rooms. Automated confirmation emails, modification flows, and cancellation handling were all built to match the brand voice: warm, precise, and unhurried.
The admin dashboard gives operators complete visibility: reservation management, seating capacity, dietary requirement tracking, revenue reporting, and menu management — all in a single interface designed with the same care as the public-facing site.

Visual Identity System
